Well, at least we tried: Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life

As a lover of minutiae, I thought this book would be a shoo-in on my “love” list.  Unfortunately it fell flat, and I ended up skimming it and returning it to the library unfinished.  I enjoyed Ms. Rosenthal’s style of writing, but think I would have enjoyed a collection of essays on her better thought-out entries more.

As an alternative, read The Know-It-All by A. J. Jacobs.
